Every winter, frozen Lake St. Moritz becomes a racetrack for The I.C.E. St. Moritz, bringing historic cars out of collections and onto the lake.
Stay five nights at Badrutt's Palace Hotel, directly above the action. VIP access puts you close to the cars, drivers and owners, while a private ice-driving session gives you the chance to get behind the wheel yourself.
Away from the event, spend a day skiing Corviglia with a private guide before returning to St. Moritz for long dinners and evenings at Badrutt's.
Spend the day inside The I.C.E. with VIP access to the paddock and trackside areas. See the cars at close range, meet the drivers and owners, and hear them being driven across the frozen lake.
Take to a private ice-driving course with a professional instructor. Learn how the car behaves as grip disappears, working through braking, steering and controlled slides on the frozen surface.
Return to the lake for the final day of The I.C.E., when the cars head back onto the circuit before the awards and closing celebrations.

Badrutt's Palace Hotel is our first choice for The I.C.E., a short walk from the event on the lake. Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, a few minutes away in the centre of town, is the alternative for guests who would prefer a less formal stay.

Badrutt's Palace defines St. Moritz as much as the frozen lake or the surrounding peaks. Opened in 1896, it has hosted European royalty, Hollywood, and the kind of wealth that does not require announcement, its tower visible across the valley. The Junior Suite with Lake View, around 50 square metres, looks straight down at the ice track: from the suite you watch the cars positioned in the morning, the practice runs through the day, and the infrastructure lit at night. The Palace Wellness spa runs to 2,000 square metres.

Kulm Hotel St. Moritz

The Kulm opened in 1856 and quite literally invented alpine winter tourism: owner Johannes Badrutt challenged his summer guests to return in winter, they did, and the world followed. It is equally prestigious but less formal, more athletic, deeply rooted in sporting tradition. The Piz Nair Suite is a 47 square metre corner with wraparound windows across the lake to the Engadin and Piz Nair beyond.

Heli-Skiing
Fly by helicopter into the surrounding mountains for a day of skiing with a private mountain guide. Routes are selected according to snow, weather and avalanche conditions.
The Glacier Express
Extend your stay with a journey aboard the Glacier Express, travelling through the Swiss Alps between St. Moritz and Zermatt.
The Cresta Run
Watch riders on the Cresta Run, the natural-ice skeleton course running from St. Moritz towards Celerina.
Segantini Museum
Visit the museum dedicated to Giovanni Segantini, whose paintings of the Engadin capture the mountains and high-altitude light surrounding St. Moritz.
When to Travel
December to March is winter in St. Moritz, with skiing and winter activities running throughout the season. The I.C.E. St. Moritz takes place over one weekend in late January or early February, with dates changing each year. This experience is planned around the event weekend, so early booking is recommended.
