The Suite
The Torfvilla is Torfhús Retreat's standalone four-bedroom residence, a 200-square-metre private villa built in the same reclaimed-oak, Viking-village-inspired style as the rest of the property, and designed to sleep up to ten guests across four king-bedded, ensuite bedrooms with walk-in showers and a powder room. Inside, an open-plan lounge and dining area seats up to eight, backed by a full kitchen and personal bar, while outside a private veranda holds two basalt-stone plunge pools, one geothermally heated and one cold, alongside a private outdoor sauna. The villa can also host private in-villa dining prepared by the retreat's chefs, making it as suited to a self-contained family or group escape as it is to entertaining, with daily-restocked minibar, Nespresso machine and full-size Urð bath products rounding out the amenities.
The Hotel
Torfhús Retreat is a turf-roofed hideaway set in South Iceland's Golden Circle, drawing its architecture from traditional Icelandic Viking farmhouses and positioned within easy reach of the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall. The property is built around standalone villas rather than conventional hotel rooms, ranging from two-bedroom Torfhús cottages to the four-bedroom Torfvilla, each with its own geothermally heated plunge pool and rustic, handcrafted interiors, giving the retreat a private, cabin-like feel despite its five-star service level. Dining centres on a daily set menu using local and often foraged Icelandic ingredients, and the remote, low-light setting is a particular draw for guests hoping to catch the Northern Lights, with staff known for alerting guests when activity is visible overhead, all contributing to a stay built around seclusion, nature and understated Nordic luxury.

Suite Collection is a curated collection of beautiful suites at the world's most iconic and unique destinations, complimented with access to the most awe-inspiring and incredible experiences on offer.
We are committed to enhancing your journey, one memorable moment at a time. Our Suite Collection promise to you is that our guests always get our best prices and personalised service that exceed your expectations.
Suite Collection's Tailored Experiences gives you access to the most exceptional multi-day luxury itineraries in the world. From the volcanic landscapes of Iceland, to the ancient temples of Japan and New Zealand' majestic high country, each itinerary has been built on one single promise - deliver nothing short of the absolute pinnacle of what every destination has to offer.
Our Tailored Experiences give you the inside knowledge and access of a seasoned local, knowing exactly where to stay, where to dine and where to go - before you've even arrived.
At Suite Collection, we believe that extraordinary travel should leave the world a little better than we found it. That's the idea behind our Book with Purpose initiative. For every reservation made through our platform, a portion of the proceeds is directed to one of the world's leading non-for-profit charities.
Each month, Suite Collection nominates one of our preferred charities, partnering with our guests to give back to a greater cause.
Once a reservation is confirmed, a member of our team personally reaches out - not with an automated message, but with a genuine conversation to understand the finer details of the trip, anticipate our guests' needs, and shape the experience around them. That might mean arranging a private transfer, letting the property know about a special occasion ahead of arrival or securing tickets to a VIP event - whatever it takes, we're here to help elevate every journey you embark on.
At Suite Collection, we don't do points. Loyalty programmes ask guests to wait and collect - we'd rather listen.
Every stay includes a considered surprise and delight, something chosen because we've taken the time to understand what you actually loves, not because it ticks a rewards-tier box. It's waiting for you when they arrive, not redeemed after the fact. That's the difference: points reward loyalty to a programme. We reward the guest.
