James Lanier was an entrepreneur who lived in Madison during the 1800s. Lanier was a wealthy banker with strong interest in real estate and railroads. He is more famously known for loaning the Indiana government over one million dollars without security to help the state avoid bankruptcy during the American Civil War. The Lanier Mansion is a staple landmark of Madison; The Lanier Suite honors Lanier’s legacy and puts a modern twist on “The Informal Parlor” in Lanier’s mansion with inspiration from the deep green drapes and gold accents from the historic wallpaper.Suite Collection Benefits
