The Suite
Tucked along the southern edge of the property, Post House is another of Post Ranch Inn's most private one-bedroom retreats, offering generous living space and panoramic Pacific views that carry through nearly every room and out onto the private patio. The house is built around a chef's kitchen, an outdoor soaking tub, and a firepit and seating area for evenings under the stars, giving it a more residential, self-contained feel than a typical suite. With full access to all Post Ranch guest services and amenities, it's also flexible enough to host special occasions such as weddings or private dinners, making it a favorite for guests seeking both seclusion and the option to entertain.
The Hotel
Post Ranch Inn sits on roughly 100 redwood-covered acres above the Big Sur coastline, built on land that traces back to a Post family homestead and cattle ranch established in the 1860s. Opened in 1992 with an organic, cliff-hugging architecture designed to blend into the Santa Lucia Mountains, the adults-only resort now comprises around 40 rooms and freestanding houses, each with ocean or mountain views and none with televisions or alarm clocks. Guests have access to the acclaimed Sierra Mar restaurant and its award-winning wine cellar, a spa drawing on estate-grown botanicals, infinity and heated basking pools, and a full slate of complimentary activities such as yoga, guided nature walks, and falconry, all of which have helped earn the property recognition as one of a small number of Three Key hotels in the United States under the MICHELIN Guide.
