The Suite
Set apart from the main hotel building on Splendido's hillside, just above the pool, La Dolce Vita is the property's most private address, a 127 sqm suite with its own 45 sqm garden and terrace, sleeping up to four across a king bed or twin configuration. The terrace is built for living outdoors, with sunbeds, a dining area, and a private outdoor shower, all looking out over uninterrupted sea and pool views from the seclusion of the garden setting. It's the suite guests choose when they want the full Splendido experience with none of the passing traffic, a quiet, self-contained retreat that still sits minutes from the pool, the spa, and La Terrazza.
The Hotel
Belmond Hotel Splendido occupies a former 16th-century monastery on the hillside above Portofino, its gardens and terraces looking down over the bay from a perch that keeps the village close without feeling like the centre of it. Guests dine at La Terrazza, where Chef Corrado Corti's Italian and regional cooking is served on an open-air terrace above the harbour, before an aperitivo with live music at the Piano Bar. The hotel's pool, spa, fitness centre, and tennis court sit within the grounds, alongside a children's Smile Club for family stays, and a complimentary shuttle, or a short walk, connects to the hotel's sister property, Belmond Splendido Mare, right on Portofino's Piazzetta, for guests wanting the harbourside buzz to go with the hillside calm.
