The Suite
The Penthouse sits on the top floor of The Silo Hotel, the jewel of The Royal Portfolio's collection, and is a 211-square-metre, one-bedroom suite wrapped in the hotel's signature pillowed-glass windows with panoramic views stretching across Cape Town's harbour, the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain. Beyond the bedroom, the suite includes a private cinema room and a dedicated spa treatment room, along with two walk-in wardrobes and two marble bathrooms, giving it the scale and layout of a private residence rather than a conventional hotel suite. Two 24-square-metre private balconies extend the living space outdoors, and, in keeping with founder Liz Biden's design approach across the hotel, the suite is finished with a bold colour scheme and a curated selection of contemporary African art, and can be converted to a two-bedroom configuration on request.
The Hotel
The Silo Hotel occupies the top six floors of a converted grain silo above the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, with the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, home to the largest collection of contemporary African art on the continent, housed directly beneath it in the same building. The 28-suite property is part of The Royal Portfolio, founded by Liz Biden, whose distinctive use of colour and art runs through every individually decorated room, and it's defined architecturally by faceted, pillowed-glass windows that frame views across Table Mountain, Robben Island and Table Bay harbour. Dining and drinks are centred on the Granary Cafe, the double-height Willaston Bar and the rooftop pool bar, while a spa, gym and direct museum access round out a property built around Cape Town's art, food and natural landscape, positioned as one of the city's most distinctive five-star addresses.
