The Suite
On the top floor of Hotel de Russie, the Nijinsky Suite is the hotel's presidential address, a 172 sqm, two-bedroom sanctuary redesigned by Rocco Forte's Director of Design, Olga Polizzi, and named for the ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky, once a regular guest of the hotel. Vibrant red walls and terracotta cabochon flooring set off a considered mix of Italian antiques, bespoke modern art, and 19th-century and Valadier-era objets d'art, giving the suite the feel of a private Roman residence rather than a hotel room. The living room, anchored by a well-stocked bar, opens to a dining table that seats ten and a library stocked with art volumes, while the bedroom leads through a walk-in dressing room to a marble and mosaic bathroom with a separate steam bath. Outside, a 240 sqm private terrace, dressed in teak furniture and Mediterranean planting, looks over Villa Borghese, the Pincio, the hotel's Secret Garden, and the rooftops of Rome, complete with its own wardrobe concierge service for packing, pressing, and the rest of the details.
The Hotel
Hotel de Russie sits on Via del Babuino, tucked between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, close enough to Rome's fashion houses on Via Condotti and the Trevi Fountain to reach on foot, with the Vatican just ten minutes away. Its 120 rooms and suites wrap around the hotel's celebrated Secret Garden, a terraced, Valadier-era garden that also hosts Le Jardin de Russie for alfresco dining, while the Stravinsky Bar keeps the aperitivo tradition alive well into the evening. Guests unwind at the wellness zone's saltwater hydropool, sauna, and Turkish steam room, or simply use the hotel as a base between Rome's major sights, all wrapped in the kind of understated, design-led service Rocco Forte is known for across its Italian properties.
