Buenos Aires, Argentina
Argentina North to South
A showcase of its most remarkable highlights

Argentina spans from subtropical north to sub-Antarctic south—2,800 kilometers that translate into distinct ecosystems and climates. We've focused on three regions that demonstrate this range without requiring you to cover the entire country.

Buenos Aires concentrates most of the country's population and economic activity in a single metropolitan area of 15 million people. Bariloche sits at 770 meters elevation in the Andean lake district, where glacial geography created the terrain and microclimates that define the region. Ushuaia, at 54 degrees south latitude, is the southernmost city in the world—a designation that matters practically when considering access to Antarctic waters and the Beagle Channel.

The experiences we've assembled reflect years of relationship-building with people who know these places as homes rather than destinations. Your trip will reflect your specific interests, whether that's architecture, viticulture, fly-fishing, or understanding how a country this geographic scale actually functions.

Beunos Aires Experiences

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires contains 15 million people in its metropolitan area—nearly 40% of Argentina's population concentrated in one city. This density created the conditions for everything that defines it: the café culture, architecture shaped by successive waves of immigration, tango emerging from port neighbourhoods, and the political intensity that has shaped the country's modern history. Restaurants fill at 10pm; bookstores stay open past midnight.

The three experiences below move between its public and private faces—just an introduction. We’ll take you deeper if you wish.

Tango Show and Dinner Experience

Cultural & Dining Experience

Tango developed in the conventillos—tenement housing where immigrants from Italy, Spain, and elsewhere lived alongside Black Argentines and Indigenous populations in the late 1800s. The music and dance synthesised these influences into something distinctly Porteño.

A professional performance reveals years of technique—the communication between partners, precise footwork, and music-led movement. You’ll have privileged seating, followed by dinner at a top restaurant where you can wind down in a quieter ambience.

Palacio Barolo Private Tour

Private Tour

Designed in 1923 by Mario Palanti as an architectural interpretation of Dante’s Divine Comedy—Hell at the base, Purgatory in the middle, Paradise above—Palacio Barolo reached 100 metres, the tallest in South America at completion.

Your private tour includes access to the lighthouse (eight flights of stairs), offering rare sightlines across the city. Day and night visits feel distinct—choose interior detail by daylight or city lights after dark.

Wisteria draped over a bridge at Isla el Descanso in the Tigre Delta

Isla el Descanso

Private Tour

The Tigre Delta—where five rivers meet the Río de la Plata—forms a network of channels and islands 30 km from central Buenos Aires. Isla el Descanso is a cultivated homage to Monet’s Giverny.

Arrive by boat, then spend the day between gardens, outdoor art installations, a three-course lunch with Rutini wines, and tea service before returning—an exhale from the city’s intensity.

Bariloche Experiences

Bariloche

Bariloche sits at 770 metres on the shore of glacial Lake Nahuel Huapi (≈530 km²). The Andes form the western edge, feeding precipitation that sustains southern beech forests—Patagonia’s forested zone rather than steppe. The lake is the access road: boats feature in most days here.

Private Yacht on Nahuel Huapi

Boating Experience

Nahuel Huapi reaches depths of ~450 m and extends irregular arms between ridges, leaving much shoreline inaccessible by road. A private yacht gives range to reach bays, islands, and forest edges otherwise out of reach.

Spend the day with a captain who knows the lake’s geography; catering is included. Conditions shift quickly here—plans adapt to weather.

Private Lunch at Villa Beluno

Dining Experience

Avellana is Villa Beluno’s fine-dining restaurant, serving a multi-course menu in a private room reserved exclusively for your group.

Expect regional ingredients and European-influenced techniques adapted to local produce. Speak with our Experience Tailors about a stay at Villa Beluno.

Visit Villa La Angostura

Boating Experience

Cruise to the mountain town of Villa La Angostura at the foot of Cerro Bayo. Disembark for easy hiking through the Arrayanes Forest, then a gourmet lunch at Las Balsas (Relais & Châteaux).

Ushuaia Experiences

Ushuaia

Ushuaia—the world’s southernmost city—occupies a bay at 6 m elevation, backed by the Martial Range and fronted by the Beagle Channel, a 240-km strait linking the Pacific and Atlantic. The channel provides access to sub-Antarctic islands and Antarctic staging; the mountains create microclimates with southern beech forests up to the tree line.

Experiences split between accommodation-based activities at Arakur Resort and day excursions using the channel as primary infrastructure.

Private Dinner at Arakur Resort

Dining Experience

Arakur’s Winter Garden and wrap-around terrace are reserved exclusively for your evening. The multi-course menu centres on local seafood and seasonal produce with paired wines.

Timed for sunset (weather permitting), as light shifts across the channel and the Martial Range. Enquire with our Experience Tailors about a stay at Arakur.

Penguins on Martillo Island in the Beagle Channel

Martillo Island Penguin Walk

Nature Experience

Martillo Island hosts Magellanic and Gentoo penguins (Oct–Apr). Your vessel is the only one authorised to land passengers, limiting human contact.

Before landing, your guide identifies seabirds of the channel—albatrosses, cormorants, skuas, gulls. On the island, walk among nesting sites for ~1 hour with a naturalist.

Horseback riders traversing terrain near Ushuaia

Horseback Riding Above the Beagle Channel

Nature Experience

Ushuaia’s riding club supplied horses and trainers for The Revenant—a nod to the calibre of animals and horsemanship.

Ride through forest, then ascend toward the tree line for views over both the channel and mountains. Routes adjust to rider experience and conditions, reaching areas not easily accessed on foot.

Stay at Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa

Accommodation

Arakur sits at 245 meters elevation on Cerro Alarkén Natural Reserve, above the city and bay. The Premium Suite—the property's top accommodation—separates into bedroom and living spaces, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing south across Ushuaia Bay and the Beagle Channel to Hoste and Navarino islands.

The elevation positions you above weather that often sits at sea level, and the 95-hectare reserve provides distance from the city's development. The resort includes spa facilities, heated pools, and the Winter Garden restaurant where your private dinner takes place.
